NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — As the price of eggs and groceries overall continue to rise, a new foundation continues its push to make fresh food options available for the most vulnerable populations.

This weekend, the E. Palmer Supermarket on E. Berkley Avenue in Norfolk will welcome customers for the ‘Fourth Annual Grocery Gift Card Giveaway.’

On March 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. the Black and veteran-owned business will open its doors to everyone! Inside of the store, the Morring Community Foundation will give away up to $25,000 dollars in preloaded grocery gift cards with a live DJ.

“We expect that the first 25 participants will get a gift card of $100. We’re giving out the rest to everybody who comes on a first-come first-serve basis. There will be McDonald’s to the first hundred guests as well,” said Charlene A. Morring, of Morring Law.
